To ensure that addiction treatment professionals understand
addiction and addictive disorders, demonstrate treatment knowledge,
skills, and attitudes, apply them to their practice and are
professionally ready to address the substance use disorders of their
client populations.
Our
vision is:
Through accredited certification, achieve industry professionalism
in the following eight practice dimensions: Clinical Evaluation,
Treatment Planning, Referral, Service Coordination, Counseling,
Client, Family, and Community Education, Documentation, and
Professional and Ethical Responsibilities.
Our
goal is:
To promote and improve
professionalism in the field of criminal justice addictions
counseling. Three objectives that will help to achieve this goal
are:
1. Certify existing
professionals in the criminal justice field
2. Encourage new
professionals to become certified
3. Require and encourage
continuing education in an effort to continuously improve the
quality of the workforce
